I recently posted about one of my projects, Butterick 5032. I finally finished it only moments ago!
I followed the pattern closely though made it a bit shorter than the pattern intended. I also need to taper the skirt to make it is puffy.
I found the purple linen in an op-shop and while it's exactly the colour I'm after, I don't think I'll sew with linen any time soon. During the process the fabric's give became evident and I ended up with quite a significant gap at the neckline. Hopefully it'll go back to it's original size when I wash it.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the dress. I plan to make a belt for it and then wear it with this vintage Avon brooch I recently bought.

Oh Joanie- such inspiration! And the dress is gorgeous; I'd love to see a picture of it on.
ReplyDeleteI will post one when I wear it!

I third that I'd love to see it one. I made one (and posted on Sew Retro) a while back and am just now tracing out the pattern (original tissue is falling apart) to make a button front version.
ReplyDeleteYour color looks fantastic, nicely done!
